Gratitude and Christmas Mornings

Undoubtedly, there is no better feeling than when we wake up to a Christmas morning, welcomed with hot chocolate, turkey on the dining table, Santa by the door, and Christmas carols ringing everywhere. However, do you know that there is something that feels better than a Christmas morning? Well, I didn’t think so too until I did some research. And guess what I found that to be? Gratitude! So today, we are going to be looking at how gratitude beats our familiar feeling of every Christmas morning.

All Year Round

Unlike Christmas, which only comes once a year in December, gratitude is a feeling that you can experience at any time of the year. You can as well experience on Christmas day, Easter, and even on New Year’s Eve.

Making Returns

If we are, to be honest with ourselves, you’d agree with me that there are times we receive Christmas gift which deep down inside, we know that it’s not what we will need or would love to use. And what do we do at the end? Give it away to some other person that may be able to make use of the gift. However, that’s not the case with gratitude. No one can ever think of rejecting any feeling of gratitude showed towards them. No matter how small, big, or the time it comes, we always accept that warm feeling of peace and relief with open arms.

Contentment Against Materialism

As Christmas draws near, we naturally tend to think of what gifts we could get for ourselves, family, and friends. Thus, when we engage in Christmas shopping, our materialistic side is reborn. But, the opposite tends to be the case when gratitude comes into play. When we express or receive a feeling of gratitude, it helps us appreciate what we have and as a result, rekindles this special feeling of contentment within us.

Tension Against Growth

During the Christmas season, we often get too busy decorating the house, cooking, and trying to make everything look perfect, thus, tension may be created between our family members and us, especially with those that may not buy our ideas of decoration, cooking or anything else. But with gratitude, you’ll get to improve more in your family relationship, as it will help you realize how precious they are to you, and how lucky you are to have them in your life.

Cost

Expressing a feeling of gratitude towards another by allowing them to know how much you appreciate their efforts, costs absolutely nothing. On the other hand, getting a Christmas gift actually could cost a fortune, depending on who is involved.

4 Ways to Celebrate Christmas

In today’s write-up, we are going to talk about ways to celebrate Christmas. So, without any delay, let’s get started.

Decorating the Christmas Tree

This is the most exceptional way to experience the beautiful feeling of a Christmas Eve. This is why most people, own a Christmas tree that we decorate only during December, which signifies the commencement of Christmas and Santa Claus. So if you wouldn’t love to feel left out, ensure that your home is decorated with Christmas trees during this period.

Cooking Plum Cake

Never can we imagine the Christmas festival without a yummy plum cake. Christmas cake is a fruitcake prepared to serve during the auspicious eve of Jesus’s rebirth. It can be of many colors and flavors, depending on person-to-person. Various shapes of cakes are also fashioned, and most common amongst them is the round flat cake or Santa shaped cakes.

Celebrating with Wine

It is said that good food and wine are complementary to each other; therefore, wine adds a star to every Christmas eve. A good wine results in an excellent feast. So, whoever is a connoisseur of food or drinks would want an excellent wine to be served during this particular eve. Wine lovers wait for this festival to relish their drinks and celebrate it with more frolics. In other words, while visiting our acquaintances during Christmas, wine can also serve as a present or a token of love

Visit The Church

December time is the busiest time for churches. Religiously, it is often the time when we get to see people visiting the church to give thanks to God for blessing them with a beautiful life. And the best part is, nobody is restricted, as we are all free to visit any church to give thanks to God. So, when you are planning for your Christmas this time, don’t forget to add this to your list.

Decorate Your House

As we mostly see, big stars are usually hung on the roofs of houses during the Christmas season. Stars of various colors and designs can be seen everywhere, and there are two primary colors for the Christmas month. They are mainly, Green and red, where green color signifies the persistence of life, and red represents the blood of Jesus.

So, if you’ve been wondering how to celebrate your Christmas this year, you can either make use of the above options or adopt other honorable mentions like having dinner with your family, taking pictures, and going out for a party with your friends.

Best DIY Christmas Food Gifts

It’s Christmas holiday season, and you know how hectic that can be because you will need to lend out lots of gifts to either your friends, family, or work colleagues. However, with this write-up today, you won’t need to bother anymore as I’ve been able to come up with three affordable DIY Christmas food gifts. What’s even better is that with these food gifts, you won’t have to spend lots of time in the kitchen. So without further ado, let’s get started!

Holiday Bars

Holiday bars are perfect for the Christmas season, and the best part is that you can package it in a disposable plate, or on anything you wouldn’t want back. If you have ever had those hello dollies, the seven-layer bar cookies, well, that’s about what this is. So, in essence, these cookie swaps are great, and let me tell you how you can make these. Start with a gingersnap crust, which will give it that spice; you’ll also need tart dried cranberries, white chocolate chips, and fat-free sweetened condensed milk. But, remember everything you do while making these cheese should be in moderation because an excessive quantity could cause diabetic health issues.

Quick Bread

Quick pieces of bread are just what they are, quick! Now you can afford to serve your friends or a colleague from work who decides to pay you a surprise Christmas visit either a cranberry yam bread or a banana bread, which both are still types of quick breads. The fun part is that with this bread, you can afford to store them in the refrigerator, pending the day someone visits you.

Walnuts

Having a spiced walnut is another wonderful make-ahead food gift you can have during Christmas. Remember, not only are walnuts high in omega-three, but they are outstandingly great to our overall health as well. The good part about having walnuts is that you can decide to place them on cheese trays, or even inside little mason jars. Better still, you can do something simple like wrapping up a plastic bag and tying a short string like a ribbon around it. It is a festive, cheap, and yet simple food gift for Christmas, that doesn’t require much to be turned into a food gift.

So, in a nutshell, there are some DIY yet straightforward presentable food gifts you can prepare, and give to your loved ones during Christmas. If you’re not into Holiday bars or Quickbread, then I bet you’d go down for the walnuts!

How to decorate for Christmas

How to decorate for Christmas. One of the goals of Christmas is making your home shine and brightening it up as much as possible, so the coziness of the holiday can emanate from your home. Of course, no one wants to be left out of the warmth that comes with the season (even though Christmas is in the dead of winter in some places around the world) that warmth is what we know as the Christmas spirit.

How can you get every inch of your house into this Christmas spirit? It’s quite simple quite frankly, it all boils down to creativity. Regardless of your choice of décor, traditional or otherwise, there are tons of creative ideas out there you can adopt to give you the desired result.

It’s imperative to get a Christmas tree, but that is just a start. Your entire, from the front porch to the kitchen should showcase as much festivity as possible.  To achieve this, you should try some decorating ideas.

Displaying holiday greetings on a mini Christmas tree is a good one. You could also create a hot cocoa bar, giving it a seasonal makeover with a customized wood sign and cute cups. Also, it won’t be a bad idea to winterize your porch, throwing in a few galvanized planters with mini trees.

Even things as basic as reorganizing your bookshelf can go a long way in increasing the coziness of your home. If you want to go all the way, you can craft an unconventional Christmas tree and site it where suits you.

Best Artificial Christmas trees

Artificial Christmas trees. One of the most conspicuous symbols over the years that indicates the advent of the Christmas season is the Christmas tree. A lot of Christmas tree pop up in cities and towns across America and Europe to signal the start of the season.

Nobody can say for sure when Fir trees were first used as Christmas trees. It probably began about 1000 years ago in Northern Europe. Many early Christmas Trees seem to have been hung upside down from the ceiling using chains (hung from chandeliers/lighting hooks).

For many years, many families during yuletide wander into the woods to find that perfect fir or spruce that will make their living room shine and brighten up for the holiday season, they don’t mind doing this even in the dead cold of winter.

These days, however, people would rather not go through the bother of going into the woods to cut down trees themselves, after all, there is an alternative which comes with way less stress and wat more advantages than going into the woods to cut down trees.

Families have adopted buying Artificial Christmas Trees that can last them years and years instead of cutting down a live tree. You can enjoy the joy of buying the trees in all shapes, colors, and sizes and they come pre-wired with an assortment of different types of lights to brighten your holidays. The best ones, in my opinion, are the ones that look and smell as close as possible to the real thing.

Of course, no one wants to be singled out as the black sheep when every other person has warmness emanating from their homes through decorations.

It is one thing to decorate your home for Christmas but it’s a whole other thing to have every inch of your home filled with the Christmas spirit.

You might not know this, but to the professional eye, the kind of person you are can be deciphered by the way you decorate your home. However, for a more impulsive person, home-made decorations and probably a one of a kind Christmas tree will be the way to go.

These are different accessories that are available to different kinds of people and the list goes one for the different variations in between those two extremes. The truth, however, is that your personal preference determines your choice of accessories and approach to decorating your home for the holiday season.

Green trees and why we love them

Green trees. One of the most enjoyable traditions of the holiday season is the Christmas tree. Christmas trees come in different types and color, especially if they are artificial. But even with all the choices that have been made available in recent times, many people choose to stick to green trees for Christmas.

Going green with your Christmas tree is quite easy and there are a lot of ways to go about it. You could use living potted Christmas trees, recycled cardboard or you could even purchase LED Xmas lights. If you ask me though, aiming for a living tree is the best way to go green. Apart from the sense of nature it gives, it also is eco-friendly.

Alive trees produce Oxygen and consume carbon dioxide. This fact alone is good news because it helps combat global warming. Another good news is that living trees can last for years if you know how to keep them alive.

That you need to decorate your home for Christmas with a living tree, does not mean that you have to kill a tree. Living trees are a great option, although they are usually small.

The only problem you might encounter if you ply this route is that after about ten days of being indoors, it becomes hard to keep different varieties alive, especially if they are in a heated environment.

However, there is a simple solution to that. After about ten days, all you need to do is bring them outside to their initial temperature and they will do just fine.

Flocked Artificial Christmas Trees

One Christmas tradition that we probably cannot do without is are Christmas trees. Christmas trees are the most prominent symbol that anyone would see around during yuletide. The tradition has been around for many years and is still going to be in practice in years to come.

Since the advent of artificial Christmas trees, it has become the choice of many families and offices across the globe during the holiday season, largely because of its convenience and availability in different sizes and shapes.

Artificial Christmas trees save you the stress of going to cut down trees yourself and dragging it down all the way to your homes.

These days, flocked trees seems to be a big deal during Christmas. If you have no idea what a flocked tree is, it is a tree, (natural or artificial) that has been adorned with artificial snow. Our focus here, however, is on flocked artificial Christmas trees.

You would see for yourselves that artificial flocked trees are an absolute beauty when properly done, especially after their decorating and lighting up. They bring a feeling of warmth and liveliness to the atmosphere as well as complementing the Christmas season.

If you cannot seem to get an already made artificial flocked tree, you could just get an artificial tree and flock it yourself; especially since these days flocking a tree is not rocket science. You just have to get a flocking kit from a Christmas store around, follow the directions on how to flock and in no time, you’d have yourself a flocked artificial Christmas tree.

Pre-lit artificial Christmas trees

Pre-lit artificial Christmas trees. We all know Christmas is not the same without a tree. In such a time as yuletide when we gather family and friends together to celebrate the year, the spirit of the season does not feel complete without the right kind of decoration. The decoration is an important tradition of Christmas; it keeps the kids and the household in general busy and happy.

Christmas trees are usually the centerpiece of holiday decorations. It is general knowledge that alive trees are not ideal for every environment. Artificial Christmas trees, however, can blend into and thrive in any environment.

This Christmas, I would like to recommend that you use a pre-lit artificial Christmas tree as the centerpiece of your holiday décor. Lighted Christmas trees as they are otherwise known are extremely easy to set up and require very little effort to dress up. All that is required for the set-up is throwing in a few ornaments here and there on the tree and you have yourself a Christmas tree that will add flow to your home.

An amazing fact about a pre-lit Christmas tree is that it can be tailor-made to suit your choice of home décor. So whether you want to use it to fill a big space or you need one that’s just small enough for a tabletop, your needs are covered.

These trees are not very easy to differentiate them from their fresh counterparts. This is an added advantage for people that would have preferred a natural tree but couldn’t get.
